International Academic Competitions is pleased to announce the All Canadian Regional Online History Bee & Bowl Competitions! Students from around Canada will be competing online using Google Meet and the COBA-cc online buzzer platform.

Eligibility:
In order to compete, you must be 19 years or younger at the time of the competition. You must also be enrolled in a primary or secondary school at the time of your regional tournament (or have graduated within the past two months, and not yet have started university studies).

Varsity Division: 11 or 12th grade
Junior Varsity Division: 9 or 10th grade
Middle School Division: 8th grade and younger

Schedule (Pacific Time):
History Bowl Prelim Rounds: May 1 @ 9:00 – 14:00
History Bowl Playoff Rounds: May 1 @ 15:00 – 17:00
History Bee: May 2 @ 9:00 – 12:00

Tournament Format:
All History Bowl teams will be guaranteed to play in at least 5 preliminary round matches. The exact tournament format will be determined after the registration deadline.

For the History Bee, will be 3 preliminary rounds matches that all students must participate in. Each preliminary round consists of 30 tossup questions. The top students will compete in the playoff rounds. The exact number of students that qualify for playoff rounds will be determined after the registration deadline.

For the Geography Bee, will be an online qualifying exam for students who wish to qualify for the Geography Bee Canadian Championships.

Game Format:
The rules for the Online competitions will remain largely the same as our physical competition rules. There will be minor changes. Please see rules sheet for more details.

Costs:
History Bowl – 100 USD per team
History Bee – 30 USD per player
Geography Bee – 10 USD per player
Payments are made through Flywire (International Credit Card) or US Credit Card. International Wire Payments will incur a 35 USD fee.

Awards:
Top three teams in each division will receive plaques. All students will receive a digital Certificate of Participation.

Canadian Championships Qualification:
The top 60% (including ties) of teams in each division will qualify for the 2020-21 Canadian Championships. Teams that win more than half of their prelim matches will also qualify.

Registration Deadline: April 24, 2021
Students who cancel their registration for free prior to the registration deadline. Students dropping after April 24, 2021 owe 100% of their registration fees.
