The International History Bee and Bowl is excited to begin its second year of history quiz tournaments across Canada in early 2016! IHBB staff spent close to a month in the fall of 2015 traveling across Canada to visit more schools so that our tournaments continue to grow. We look forward to seeing many new schools, as well as our schools who competed in 2015 once we begin our second year of tournaments in February 2016. This year, we’re looking to add tournaments in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and have an expanded Canadian Championships in Toronto at the end of April. The dates for the Canadian Championships are now set for Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30. The History Bee and the History Bowl will both be contested entirely on April 30 at the University of Toronto Schools. On Friday evening, April 29 from about 4pm-9pm, we will also offer the optional Geography Bee of Canada and the Sports and Entertainment History Bee of Canada as well. More details on those will follow soon, including their exact location, which will be in Toronto as well.
Tournament dates and sites for our regional tournaments will be set by the end of January across Canada; please check the map on the homepage for updated information – dates are added on a rolling basis. For further questions, please email our Executive Director, Mrs. Nolwenn Madden at nolwenn@historybowl.com. Thanks for your support and have a happy and historic 2016!
