Announcing the Debut of IAC Practice Tournaments!

IAC is delighted to announce that our new IAC Practice Tournaments are now open for registration on QuizVidya, our official training site! IAC Practice Tournaments use past IAC tournament questions to provide a simulated tournament experience and a great chance to practice your skills on different topics over the course of the academic year. The Practice Tournaments are summarized below, but you can read the FAQs for further details. You do not need to have a QuizVidya subscription to take part in the Practice Tournaments, but you do need to create a free QuizVidya account.

Tournament Play

Each Practice Tournament consists of 90 questions from past IAC tournaments (3 rounds of 30 questions).

Questions are both read out loud and appear one word at a time on the screen.

Students buzz in as soon as they know the answer and then select from 6 choices, earning more points the sooner they buzz in correctly.

Tournaments can be played online at any time during the week they are open, either all at once or one round at a time.

Post-Tournament Study Guides

Once each tournament closes, students will be able to compare their results with other students at their level on a leaderboard, and will receive a personalized Study Guide based on how they perform!

The Study Guides not only take into account your buzzes, but also the buzzes of everyone who plays the questions. Thus the notes that appear in your Study Guide are what you need to study the most relative to other students.

This allows you to improve as quickly as possible for your next official tournament!

Tournament Levels

  • Each Practice Tournament is offered at three levels:

  • Level 1 (recommended for grades 6 and under / beginners)

  • Level 2 (recommended for grades 7-8)
  • Level 3 (recommended for grades 9-12)
  • Students may play any level, or all three

  • The questions from one level to the next are completely different, and you get a different Study Guide sent to you for each level you play at

Tournament Costs

  • The cost per student, per Practice Tournament, is $30 USD for one level
  • $40 USD for two levels
  • $50 USD for all three levels
